Egyptian cuisine – a taste between the Nile, the desert and history🌅

Those who visit Egypt experience not only temples, pyramids, and the magic of the Nile, but also a cuisine as diverse and exciting as the country itself. Egyptian cuisine is a delicious blend of Oriental, Mediterranean, and African influences – simple, aromatic, and incredibly authentic.

🍲Traditional Dishes – Hearty, Spicy, Unique.
A must-try for every visitor is Koshari, the unofficial national dish. An unusual but delicious combination of rice, lentils, pasta, and crispy onions – topped with a spicy tomato sauce and a touch of garlic vinegar. It sounds unusual, but tastes heavenly and showcases the creativity of Egyptian cuisine.

Ful Medames, pureed fava beans with oil, lemon juice, and spices, is also a part of everyday Egyptian life – especially for breakfast. Served with fresh flatbread, cucumbers, tomatoes, and perhaps a piece of cheese – that's how the day begins, just like the locals!

🥩Meat lovers
should definitely try Kebda Iskandarani (liver Alexandrian style), spicy fried with garlic and chili – or Kofta, juicy meat rolls from the grill, served with fresh bread and tahini.

🍰A sweet finale – for those with a sweet tooth:
Egyptian desserts are a dream for anyone who loves sweets. Basbousa, Umm Ali, or Konafa – they smell of butter, honey, and rosewater and are as sweet as an Egyptian sunset.

☕Tea and hibiscus instead of espresso.
To finish, a glass of black tea with mint or the deep red Karkadeh (hibiscus tea) is a must. Both are not only delicious but also part of Egyptian hospitality.
